a bit late in posting here, but i’ve wanted to comment on this - am one of the people who’ve been having a really complicated love hate relationship with ff … what with multiple windows with 10+ tabs in each, used to get really screwed with just 1 gig … but what with radically increased workload, seems problems are solved, the wrong way

@kunal: cool. will give fasterfox a try. Might be true for Crazy Browser, I did get it from net before had seen it on network.
@skp: if only i had 62 empty cans in my room on a random day. psst.. there are 30 empty bottles btw.
@pkj,skp: when i think i have no tabs open, it still counts 15+. Don’t know how to do that.
@sreejith: it looks like a real mess sometimes. but can’t help.
@maruti: i use that too. its nice. its more of tabs configuration than management.
@rakesh: can’t remember 62. hints ?? P* ?

I like tabs only in browser.. in case of Yahoo ! it sucks ..un-necessarily takes loads of time opening a new mail..

I open arnd 10-15 tabs a day , i went thru IE->Firefox , then i tried some new browsers like SeaMonkey ,Flock etc , but again shifted back to Firefox .

I use TabMixPlus for tab managemnt its cool …

i am very finicky about closing tabs after opening and reading the content… never more than 6-8 at any time!! not everyone is a geek

@Kunal : more than firefox its all kinds of extensions which hog memory as far as I think …

@smr : dude no probs, you love tabs, you can blog about it ….. but if u love beer u just mention it in the god damn fking first line and thats abt it …. well make a trip to Hyd soon !!

my FF has been running for the last 5 days with almost 10-30 tabs open at any time (more tabs open in mornings, and lesser as I get busy with work) but still the memory usage has never gone over 15% of the 1G..
The FasterFox extension has been working great for me…

and looks like I found from you which browser to use, even I went the IE -> Crazy Browser -> Opera -> Firefox way

btw, i have adopted skp’s philosopy open what you want to read and close when you are done (even if it is google reader, which i spend more time on than gmail :O). so at max, 4-5 tabs are open for me and most times only gmail in a single tab (i never close gmail). But ff still hogs ~500M of 1G :(.
