Blood Donation Experience

my first blood donation experience @ IIIT, organized by Mythri Charitable Trust @ Independence day , Aug 15th ‘05

The thick syringe scared me, but it was not (much) painful. I could feel blood flowing out of my vessels. It was all going fine… He gave me a ping pong ball to play with, and I was enjoying that. But after some time… I started feeling like my energy is decreasing… I was not able to squeeze the ball easily. My heart started sinking… and I was becoming more and more afraid. I told myself that I am not going to die… but that didn’t help. And the doctor was not looking at me… he was talking to a girl on the other bed. I was feeling like vomiting. and when I failed to help myself out of this condition I stopped playing with the ball and closed my eyes to die peacefully. but before I could, the doctor removed the syringe.

Thank God. I didn’t die. For sometime I didn’t wanted to move.. but within 5 mins I was back to normal state.. like nothing has happened. Had some energizing drink and I was kickin’ again.

It was a nice experience. The post is little exaggerated but yea I was afraid.

Hey!.. just note down my blood group : B+ and feel free to contact me if there is a need. [after Feb ‘06]. Now I do know that it doesn’t kill.

and I never never want to die with a bleeding wound. Its such a slow process. smile

    duude… 6 months???
3 months is the exact time for the next donation but generally we prefer to give it right after 4 months.

3 months for normal case… and never if it scared you.

    Hey
I really like your blog Sunil. Especially the bit on blood donation. I gave blood last week - so I know how it feels! My blog isn’t so detailed as yours because mine feels more like a journal at the moment although I plan to step it up with a more journalistic style and talk about social issues, teenage stuff etc. Please check out my blog and leave comments. I could do with your expertise! http://www.spaces.msn.com/claudia3tupacsgirl/PersonalSpace

    Thanks xx
