can geeks have ‘other’ talents?

today’s FSIS topic.
by geek we mean ‘a computer geek’
just go through http://68.122.35.227/omni/geek.html
who spends time being “social” on a computer.
we are also not talking about people who are “felt to be socially inept”.

It could had been - can geeks have talents?
I’m not sure wether the quotes on ‘other’ is just to mean that.
Yes, First being geek is a talent. [ If by talent you mean “A marked innate ability”.] Positvie or Negative ?
‘other’ talents ?
Obviously. Why not ? Like any other sane (if thats what you call rest of the people)
Actual concern of the meeting - Then why is there lack of participation in campus ?
Well for me, its not because I’m a geek. My problem is time management.
There were lots of things i was really interested in, but could not participate because i am very bad at time management.
i can classify(broadly) us(iiitians) into the following categories ( ordered in decreasing order of strength. approx) -
1. gamers (CS, quake, age, you name it) - before exam : relax, after exam : relax
2. literature geeks (novel,news,blogs) - all the enjoyment of world is contained inside a novel
3. mplayer (friends, DBZ, ~parry/movies) - enjoying the package of unlimited free movies for Rs .1 million per annnum, with a free gift of B.Tech degree.
3. hackers (linux, programming, slashdot) - they can just do cd; ls; for hours, but will not leave the computer
4. howdy (talk, write, ymessenger, msn, icq, what not ) - so you did not go to see the rock band show ? Neither did I 
. Its all crap.
5. 10 pointers ( test, mid sem, assignment, routine) - I am worried. I will get A- in DIP.
6. the pairs (watch w, canteen, outside gh, on the road, phone [std?] ) - I can play but can s/he form a team with me ?
7. zombies ( sleep, eat, sleep) - I do participate. I won yesterday. Wait… was that a dream ?
8. day scholars (home sweet home ) - Yeh IIIT mein kya ho raha hai be ?
9. the rest ( just a fraction ) - who failed to adjust themselves for iiit envirionment. and therefore not geeks. So have ‘other’ talents.
All iiitians more or less fit into the above categories ( one or more ). And each of these category(1-8) has atleast one good reason for not coming out of the room/lab to see whats happening in the campus.
Well I’m - gamer, literature (blogs only), hacker,.. thats it i guess. I dont like a leave the fun of a game (if i’m not loosing), a program half written (a deadline must be close).
