The Shimla trip
It was my biggest trip with friends. A big group and a big trip.
12th - to kanpur

14th - reached kanpur. The journey was cool. The jhansi-kanpur journey was fun. 5 hrs at the gate. Sitting/sleeping at the luggage. The journey as a whole was fun. I guess half of the time we played dumb-charades. We kinda expertized in the art during the journey. And the rest of the time cards.

15th - acm - got screwed very very badly. Dont want to talk about it. At night 11 pm we left to delhi. We weighted ourself. The order was Paresh, Vidit, Sandeep, Rakesh, Me, Kunal. I had an unexpected weight of 74. I guess I gained some 3-4 kgs at Vidit’s home. Such a tasty food.

16th - started from delhi at abt 10am. the other group who came directly to delhi were late by some 2-3 hrs. we reached chandigarh by some 4-5 pm. were late so decided to stay at chandigarh. just spent some time in sector 17. people liked it. met my brother.

17th - started at about 8am. (coz of my best efforts of wakiing everyone up).
Stopped at timber trail. a 1.2 km ropeway at highway near parwanoo. it covers a height of about 500 meters. it was fun. every one enjoyed it. guys played long tennis there. i was in a hurry to reach nauni asap. the view from the top of amazing.

Reached her university at Nauni at 1 pm. Upsy had an exam at 2pm. So she was pissed off. We were suppossed to reach there by 11am. The situation there was kinda odd for some time. no one talking and everyone moving away. but for me it was like in heaven. i was feeling so good, so complete with her. we had lunch at nauni and left. she left for her exam at abt quarter to 2.
We reached shimla at 5pm. Took hotel , got refreshed and went to the Mall. We roamed in the Mall, the Ridge, Lakkad Baazar, The Scandal Point till 9. After that we had our dinner in Lower Baazar, and reached Shahi theater by 10pm. Movie Swadesh. Review in next blog. The night was damn cold. some 10 degrees at 9pm and around 5 degrees at 2 pm after the movie.
18th - Morning we went to Jakhu temple first. From there we went to Institute of Advanced Studies. A place for post docetrate in Humanities. It was amazing. Made of only stones and selected woods. It used to be residence of Viceroy and later president of India. Then we left to Kufri. Was not very nice without snow. Guys enjoyed yak ride there. Had our lunch at kufri and then we continued our journey to my village Daroti which is 100 kms from Shimla at a height of about 8k feets. Reached home at 9pm had our dinner and slept in hall.

19th - treeking. To ‘Giri Ganga’. A temple at a height of about 9k feets. it was damn cold at there, water was completely frozen and we could see snow there. We continued to walk to the top of the hill and reached a height of abt 10k feets. all other peaks were below our eye level now. and there was lots of snow around. The breeze felt like cutting through the skin. So cold. We reached back home by 9pm.

20th - The wheather was bad today morning. Fog all around. Its not like the fog in citites. The vision in clear and at a distance there is lots of fog. like the clouds are at grounds. There was light snowfall at heights in night, and we could see a white layer of snow at peaks.
It was risky to stay bask, coz if it snows then we will be stuck up here for about 3-4 days. So afternoon they started their journey to shimla. I stayed back. But here are the details.

20th - They had the experiance to see snowfall after a short journey. And they traveled through places all covered with snow. Reached the hotel at night. They liked it. Morning they traveled to kalka by Shimla-Kalka rail which is another experiance of narrow gage train takes 5 hrs to cover 90 kms and covers 100 tunnents in its path. Spent some time at chandigarh, traveled at night, took some rest, and reached delhi by morning, and took trains to their place.
